The Best Quality Comes From Blu-Ray By Mike Mallett Platinum Quality Author

Over the last two decades, there have been technological leaps and bounds when it comes to watching movies and television in your own home. The first big leap was in VHS, and then we moved to the higher quality of DVD. Nowadays, we have Blu-ray, and I'd like to explain to you how this is now the future!
For the longest time, people thought that DVD was going to be the final wave of quality video for your television. The media was long lasting, held gigs of information, and was easily stored and infinitely portable. With Blu-ray, we can see how far off from perfection we were as the visuals are crisper, and the sound feels like you are right in the scene.
This begs the question of what to do with all of your outdated DVD media. For some people, the answer is to repurchase all of their DVDs, but in this fantastic newer format. Where cost effective, this type of person is going to be missing out on all of the benefits that this offers. Perhaps over time this type of person will find themselves picking up all newer movies in this fantastic format, but since it is backwards compatible to DVD, they will still be able to enjoy their older discs.
One of the benefits of Blu-ray is that the storage capacity is 3 to 10 times that of a DVD. This means it is going to be possible to have DVD duplication to Blu-ray, making all of your DVD home videos or personal recordings available on a much more accessible disc. Right now, the cost of recordable Blu-ray media isn't as effective as buying recordable DVDs, but there are companies out there that already offer this service at reasonable fees.
A couple of years ago, it wasn't financially responsible to own a Blu-ray player. The cost was still coming down, and people weren't sure how Blu-ray was the future! As we move into the next decade, it should be obvious with the cost of the units, high definition televisions, and our growing need in a digital age to have as much available space as possible, that Blu-ray is the new market leader and is going to be for a long time.
